プロジェクトの歴史

PlutoPrint began as a Python binding and command-line frontend for the PlutoBook rendering engine. Its first documented release appeared in May 2025, followed by dedicated Read the Docs documentation in June 2025.

Later releases added prebuilt platform binaries, broader network controls, page and canvas operations, and tracked PlutoBook's expanding CSS, SVG, and paged-media support.

PlutoPrint is distributed through PyPI and Homebrew. Prebuilt packages made the PlutoBook-backed renderer usable on common Windows, Linux, and macOS targets without requiring every user to compile its native dependencies.

Homebrew availability arrived in September 2025, complementing the normal Python installation route and exposing the plutoprint executable as a package-manager-managed CLI.

CLI users run plutoprint with an HTML input, an output path, and optional page or network settings. Python users create a Book, load HTML or a URL, then export PDFs, PNGs, page ranges, or custom canvas renderings.
