Historique du projet

One lineage began with Donald Miller's experiments combining singing pedagogy with acoustic and voice science; Richard Horne later integrated acoustic, spectrogram, and electroglottograph signals into Windows software.

A parallel lineage began in 2003 when Bodo Maass and Wolfgang Saus founded Sygyt Software and developed Overtone Analyzer for overtone-singing instruction. The Overtone Analyzer and VoceVista teams began combining their approaches in 2008.

Their shared platform produced a cross-platform VoceVista Video release in 2017. In 2026, version 6 unified the editions' names, renaming Overtone Analyzer to VoceVista Basic.

Basic can open video files as audio but does not display synchronized video or provide the frequency filters, side-by-side comparison, vowel chart, advanced measurement, vibrato-analysis, or EGG features of the higher editions.
