Historique du projet

pgBackRest began as a PostgreSQL-specific backup and WAL-archive utility. Its early releases developed the core backup, restore, archive-push, and archive-get workflow before the stable 1.00 release established a new repository format and configuration scheme.

The 2.x line began a migration from Perl to C for performance-sensitive operations. The migration was completed in version 2.21, while the project retained compatibility with version 1 repositories and options.
