Sentry developed sentry-native as its official error- and crash-reporting client for native applications, optimized for C and C++. The initial 0.0.1 release established the project, and later releases expanded platform support, crash backends, Android NDK integration, release health, tracing, and app-hang detection.

Sentry Native is distributed through Homebrew, Nix, and Arch Linux packaging and is also consumed beneath other Sentry integrations, including Sentry's Java/Android NDK and Unreal support. The maintainers describe those higher-level SDK integrations as its primary role, while standalone use receives best-effort support.
