Proxytunnel is a long-lived command-line utility for creating generic TCP tunnels through HTTP or HTTPS proxies, especially for SSH.

Projektgeschichte

Jos Visser originally wrote Proxytunnel so SSH could reach a home machine through an HTTPS proxy; Mark Janssen is also credited by the project. The built-in version text dates the project to 2001, and maintenance has continued through modern releases with authentication, IPv4/IPv6, TLS, and daemon-mode improvements.
