PHP 8.2 is a branch-pinned PHP runtime for applications, extensions, and build pipelines that target the PHP 8.2 language and ABI contract.

Project history

PHP began with Rasmus Lerdorf's CGI tools in 1994 and was released publicly in 1995. Parser rewrites produced PHP 3 and the Zend Engine lineage, followed by the performance-oriented PHP 7 engine and the modern PHP 8 series.

PHP 8.2.0 was released on 8 December 2022.
