dockerize is Jason Wilder's container-startup helper for templating config files from environment variables, waiting for dependent services, and tailing application logs to stdout or stderr.

### Project history

The GitHub repository was created in October 2014, the same day as Wilder's blog post 'A Simple Way To Dockerize Applications.' That early Docker era often required shell glue to turn environment variables into config files, wait for linked services, and redirect file-based logs into Docker's logging model.

dockerize formalized that glue into one static-style utility. Its first GitHub release, v0.0.1, appeared in October 2014; v0.1.0 followed in January 2016; and v0.13.0 was published in June 2026 with current release artifacts for Linux, Alpine, and macOS architectures.
